The Gold Coast has long been an attractive destination and now operators are thinking next level with integrated resorts and entertainment precincts highly desirable. The Gold Coast Council has approved for a Disney-style neighborhood to be built surrounding Dreamworld.
The development would be located on Beattie Road, directly opposite Dreamworld.
If the project goes ahead, the neighborhood will include three towers of up to 15 stories featuring short-term and tourist accommodation as well as shops and restaurants.
Movie World and Dreamworld have both flirted with hotels and entertainment precincts in the past and plans have recently emerged for action in the future.
A plan has been proposed to build a nine-story hotel, golf resort and lakeside precinct near Movieworld. These plans will attract more tourists and buyers to the Northern Gold Coast areas, making the Gold Coast the place to be.
Peter Catanzariti from Ray White Upper Coomera believes that this will be great for business, tourism, and locals.
“Having a little break without leaving the Northern Gold Coast will be a wonderful advantage for locals.”
“Anything that keeps us on the map for attracting people and business to the Gold Coast is great”
